Cosmetic Treatments
- Dermal Fillers
|
As we age our skin becomes drier, thinner and lacking in volume and elasticity as our skin cells lose their ability to produce hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid and can help replenish your skin by improving its elasticity and tone. They can re-volumise, re-contour and create a naturally fresh and more youthful appearance.
The treatment which involves small injections, can be used on various areas of the skin which may be showing signs of ageing. These include fine lines and facial folds such as wrinkles around the corners of the eyes, between the nose and corner of the mouth, around the lips and also to plump out the lips, cheeks, neck, decolletage and the backs of your hands.
We have found the two most effective Dermal Filler products to be Juvederm Ultra and Restylane.

How does it work?
There is natural occuring compound in the skin called hyaluronic acid which holds on to water. In order to obtain healthy looking skin it needs more moisture, not just at the surface but at every level. Skins shape and volume is largely determined by the levels of hyaluronic acid.
By injecting extra hyaluronic acid back into the skin to rehydrate the dermis it can improve the volume and tone resulting in a revitalised appearance. Anaesthetic cream is applied to the appropriate area, allowing it to numb before the small injections are administered.
The treatment can last approximately 1 hour.
